Welcome SFT IPFW Blog!

I’d like to welcome SFT Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne‘s blog to our blogroll. Sara and Michelle are doing a phenomenal job organizing in the Midwest. Their blog is a superb example of how SFT chapters can use blogs to share information about chapter events with their members while telling the world what they are doing to make Tibet a free nation.

Great work Sara and Michelle! Keep it up!

Cheers,
Matt

Empowering and Thoughtful Quotes

Is Tibet lost forever?
No, a thousand times no.
Tibet will not die because there
is no death for the human spirit.
Jayaprakash Narayan

Our collective will to resist what
is unjust is like a fire that can-
not be put out.
Palden Gyatso
Tibetan monk
imprisoned for 33 years

In nonviolence the masses have a weapon
which enables a child, a woman, or even a
decrepit old man, to resist the mightiest
government successfully. If your spirit is
strong, mere lack of physical strength
ceases to be a handicap.
Gandhi

If you are neutral in situations of
injustice, you have chosen the side
of the oppressor. If an elephant has
his foot on the tail of a mouse and
you say you are neutral, the mouse
will not appreciate your neutrality.
Bishop Desmond Tutu

Upcoming Events

Tuesday: Oct.25, 2005 6:30pm

Meeting in KT 247

We will be showing the new movie, Windhorse, which we have yet to see!
Refreshments and pizza will be provided as well as a short question and answer period following the film. Hope to see you there!

Just a reminder!

Besides our normally scheduled meetings (which we will begin to post here on the blog), we will also be posting reminders of upcoming events. The biggest one on the calendar is the Tibetan Freedom Concert 2005! It will be on November 5th @ 7pm, in Neff Recital Hall. So far, 3 bands are scheduled to rock, so put this on your calendar and we'll see you there!

The Low Down on SFT IPFW

SFT IPFW is corrordinated in Fort Wayne, IN on the campus of Indiana University Purdue University of Fort Wayne. Our chapter has been in existance since 2000 and strives to educate the community around us of the plight of the Tibetan people.
The current president and head of opperations is Sara Conrad and the Vise-president is Michelle Staller. Together, sadly, they make up this tiny chapter. However, we are sure that membership will grow this semester (epecially due to the Mid-West Conference held in Chicago ealier this month). As our membership blossoms, we will be sure to add these people to our blog!
