It’s early morning in Bethlehem (7:30 am, quite an unusual hour for me to be up at) and the city is slowly but noisily waking up to the day. Both Han and I are typing away at our computers
in the hotel lobby although it’s before coffee and barely after sunrise. Given the name of our hotel (Casa Nova), we might as well have been in the East Village, or Las Vegas.
But we’re looking forward to the conference, which starts at 8:30am. Check out daily updates about the conference at the blog that Han has made (www.celebratingnv.blogspot.com).

Hey guys
glad to hear you got your laptops back. I just cannot believe the trouble you guys have had. I’d love to know on what grounds they arrested those other conference participants. Anyway, I hope things go more smoothly for you from here on in.
Enjoy Bethlehem and the conference. And happy birthday!

Yo Han! If you see Ronit Avni from Just Vision, say hello for me. They’re doing all this great fiml/video work with grassroots peacemakers on the Palestinian and Israeli side. I’ll buy you guys a beer in Santa Barbara
