Love is strange and painful
Love is sweet and bitter
Love begins with a happy note
Love does end with a sad not too
Here I am crying in silence
Here I am pinning for your love
Here I am moaning in daze
Here I am praying for expression
Tell me my love you dilemma that you face
Tell me my heart your sorrow that you keep
Tell me my vision to the world about your chains
Tell me why did you love me in the silence of the world
This Valentine will be a testimony of our love and greed
This Valentine may you visualize in your soul a compassion
This Valentine may you be in the darkness of my broken heart
This Valentine may you envision a realm filled with conscience

Dear Friends,
Your articles, actions and slogan ie “Tibet will be free!” are imature and hot headed. One must understand that Tibet is a lot freer now than 50 years ago under the leadership of Dalai Lama’s Theocractic Despotism. China liberated Tibet in 1951. The Dalai Lama’s Clique tried fanatically to restore Tibet back to Slavism and Serfdom. Dalai Lama also seeked CIA’s help trying an arm rebel against the Central Government. No Government in the world will tolerate a traitor like Dalai Lama. He is a disgrace not only to the Chinese nation but also to all the decent people in the world.
John, if you’re still out there, I suggest you seem to be confused by some very common Chinese propaganda. I suggest you visit this page, which debunks many of the myths about China’s violent invasion of Tibet. I also recommend you check out this article on why many otherwise progressive people fall for Chinese propaganda on Tibet. Lastly I recommend that you read Mikel Dunham’s Buddha’s Warriors for an accurate history of Tibet pre and post the Chinese invasion and the rightful resistance that follows.
One other thing. While being 100% factually wrong in your analysis, it’s interesting to note that you are also intellectually incoherent. You suggest, falsely, that China “liberated” Tibet. You later claim that the Dalai Lama is a “traitor.” Which one is it? Was Tibet “liberated” from control by the Dalai Lama? Or was Tibet always a part of China? How can someone you deride as a force worthy of violent liberation from also be someone who owes his allegiance to a foreign government? Is it your supposition that Saddam Hussein is a traitor to the United States of America? Because, frankly, what you’ve written makes no sense in even the most generous reading.
Thanks for raising questions on our site dedicated to Tibetan independence, something you clearly know nothing about. I suggest you read something not produced by the CCP propaganda bureau before trying to contribute to this debate again.
I am disappointed at your comparison between Tibet and Iraq. It is most astonishing that you drag a dictator like Saddam Hussien for your desperate argument. If you do not understand my previous comments, I shall repeat again in a more straightforward and plain manner as follows:
1. Tibet is a part of the PRC. This is an undeniable fact as all the world nations, including United Nations acknowledge that fact. Even Taiwan, ROC the archenemy of the PRC agrees that Tibet is part of China. Furthermore Dalai Lama is now saying he does not seek independence from China further proves that Tibet is a part of the PRC.
2. China liberated the Tibetans from the cruel Theocratic Despotism under the leadership of the Dalai Lama in 1951. Most of the Tibetans in Tibet are happy with the situation now as their livelihood are a lot better than the days of slavery and serfdom more than 50 years ago. If you do not believe it, please go to Tibet see for yourself, as Tibet is an open province of China.
3. In early 1950s Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama went to Beijing and they were quite happy to confirm that Tibet be under the leadership of the central government of the PRC and agreement was signed.
4. Dalai Lama betrayed the agreement but instead he plotted a failed coupe against the PRC. Therefore he is a traitor by definition. He committed a serious crime of treason to the motherland. In most of nations, anyone commits such a crime is sentenced “Death”. However, the PRC Central Government is compassionate enough to welcome him back if he is prepared to admit his previous mistakes and reaffirm that Tibet is an inalienable part of China. Not only he refused to accept such a lenient offer; he is trotting around the world spreading treacherous splittist messages to the unaware people of the world. He becomes a gift to the world anti-China force. His subversive action is unforgivable. You guys are a product of his ill-conceived propaganda.
5. China needs peace and stability so that the smooth social and economic progress can continue and people’s living standard can rise further. China does not want any organisation like yours trying hard to split the multi-ethnic nation like PRC. Any chaos in China now will jeopardise the present social and economic progress. Dalai Lama is doing his best to create chaos in China with a facade as a compassionate monk. Many people do fall for his deception, particularly the young generation. I was appalled to learn that my 16-year-old nephew joined the “Tibetan Cause”. He would not know where is Tibet and the Tibetan history etc.
6. Please just think for yourself for a minute, what will US do to a person or an organisation that tries to split California from US? Will you call it as an invasion if the US army went into California to suppress a rebel against the central government?
I am curious how you have a name such as “John Lewis” and yet refer to the PRC as the “motherland”. Are you descended from British parents in Hong Kong perhaps? Or maybe you love America so much you’ve taken a western name?
And second, if you want to talk about California, why don’t you go visit? My family has been there for almost two hundred years, and you obviously know nothing of its history. It became part of the United States through a war with Mexico (which gained its independence from Spain), though it was the land of various Native American tribes well before any European countries were even aware it existed. The United States made California a part of this country through war and economic pressure, and wiped out the indigenous culture and people as well. It was a very bad thing that happened long ago. Can you admit as much to yourself about China and Tibet? That is the difference between you and I.
Finally, I’ve been to Tibet. Most us have- some many times. We’ve seen the situation with our own eyes, felt the oppression and the fear, experienced daily life as Tibetan under occupation. Have you?
Your arguments are weak, obvious, and expected. There is nothing original in what you have said, that we haven’t heard many times before. The fact that you hide your identity and nationality in an attempt to seem nuetral or impartial gives you no credibility.
Thank you for your reply. We both have to agree to the “disagree” in our views about Tibet. However, let me be perfectly clear about the following:
1. I believe that Tibet is a part of PRC, therefore PRC is Dalai Lama’s motherland, which he betrays.
2. Although I have been to California 4 times, I admit that I have little knowledge about its history. Thanks for letting me know about it. However, I used California as an example as a “state” of US, but not in its historic context as such. I apologised for the misunderstanding. Even taking this historic context into consideration, one must acknowledge that China has in recent years implemented many policies to preserve the Tibetan Culture. For example large amount of funds assigned to renovate Potala Palace and monasteries. Equally, Tibetan population is increasing a lot faster than other provinces due to a more favourable child birth policy in the minority areas. For example one-child policy is not applicable in Tibet etc.
3. PRC does have a policy towards religious freedom, particularly Buddhism. It is flourishing in China. Even Dalai Lama acknowledges it. I have visited many Buddhist Monasteries, particularly Lamaist ones in PRC. Tibetan monks are abound and free to practice their believes.
4. The fact that many of you are able to travel to Tibet freely many times, it goes to show that PRC’s open and honest approach to visitors. However, if visitors want to nick pick faults, they can always find plentiful. Of course, there are whingers and whiners in every country including Tibetans who will tell you mouthful of stories.
5. I believe that Tibetan Culture is a very important part of Chinese cultural heritage. It is and will be preserved as long as China exists. In fact the largest Buddhist Monastery in Beijing is a Lamaist one run by lamas. One must remember that PRC is a multi-ethnic nation like all other western nations. Many minorities including Tibetans ruled whole or part of China in some point of its 5,000-year-old history. Chinese people accepted the situation as normal. This is part of the Chinese history.
6. There are many Tibetan expatriates returned to the motherland and they are contributing a lot to building a better Tibet, China. I hope that your effort can be redirected towards a more constructive direction, so that those who are willing to contribute to the re-construction of the Chinese motherland can achieve their aspirations.
I am sure that you have heard of Michael Parenti. He is one of the US leading progressive political analysts. You may even have read his article called Friendly Fuedalism - The Tibet Myth on http://www.michaelparenti.org/Tibet.html.
