Rise Up, Resist, Return - Tibetan Uprising Day 2008 - March 8th

Tibetan Uprising Day 2008 is going to be huge! Join us for the biggest Free Tibet protest in the UK in years! On March 8th Tibetans and their supporters are coming to London to march in protest against China’s brutal occupation of Tibet, not just from across the UK, but from across the whole of Europe! On top of that, the whole event is going to be led by 6 of the Drapchi 14, the famous nuns who recorded protest songs in their prison cell in Drapchi Prison in Tibet whilst political prisoners there. What’s this all about?Every year Tibetans and their supporters commemorate the Tibetan Uprising of March 10th 1959, in which 89,000 Tibetans lost their lives trying to over-throw Chinese rule in Tibet, with protests all over the world. This year’s event in London is happening on Saturday March 8th and will be a huge protest march starting outside the Chinese Embassy, going through London’s streets and ending with a rally in Palace Street. After that there’s going to be a Tibetan cultural event at Westminster Cathedral Hall with tradtional Tibetan music, dancing and food. This is your chance to take to the streets and shout out for freedom for Tibet just 5 months before the Olympic Games begin in Beijing. Check out what SFT UK National Coordinator Pema Yoko has to say about Tibetan Uprising Day in the video below.Tibetan Uprising Day Protest:Where: Outside the Chinese Embassy, 49-51 Portland Place, London (map)When: 10:30am, Saturday March 8th

Tibetan Antelope & Railway Photo a Fake

So it turns out the Tibetan antelope doesn’t love the railway after all…
This photo of a herd of Tibetan antelope running happily under the Tibet railway, and embarrassingly one of China’s top photos of last year, has been proven to be a big, fat fake. (Click on the photo itself and see the details that […]

Pictures from the Rose Bowl Parade

On January 1st 2008 I went along with a handful of my SFT friends to camp out on the cold streets of Pasadena, California to protest the Beijing 2008 Float that featured my stolen image and also sadly had Tibetans from Tibet dressed up in sensationalized Tibetan costumes.  We were there protesting with other organizations […]

Don’t believe everything you see

With the Olympics just around the corner and China trying to parade around an image of serene happiness on the Tibetan plateau, this article speaks volumes about their on-going propaganda campaign.  This is taken from the Wall Street Journal Online edition.

From SFGate “Message in the Ice”
