Chinese security forces have released photos of about 18 of their “most wanted” in Tibet (click here). Are they “terrorists” as China claims, nonviolent protesters, or just Tibetans swept up in the chaos? We may never know.
One thing is for certain: these people, if they are captured, will be denied any semblance of a fair trial. They will be tortured, they may “confess” under this torture, and they will be imprisoned and possibly sentenced to death.
Such is “justice” in China and in Chinese-occupied Tibet, where the worst “crime” one can commit is to call for the independence of Tibet.
Given the complete sham of a judicial system in Chinese-occupied Tibet, whatever convictions result (and of course a conviction is the only possible outcome, never “not guilty”) will be forever tainted with illegitimacy.
